Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has foiled an attempt to smuggle more than 2,000 packages of khat to the Sultanate.
A statement issued online by ROP said: "Coast Guard police boats in the Dhofar governorate thwart an attempt to smuggle more than 2,900 packages of khat on a boat that was carried out by three people off the shores of the governorate. The legal procedures against them have been completed.
