Oman Cricket: ICC Asia Development Level 2 coaching course concludes today

Muscat: Oman Cricket successfully hosted the 2016 ICC Asia Development Level 2 Coaching Courseat the Al Falaj Hotel from December 10 and will conclude on Wednesday.

The course was conducted by experienced ICC regional development officers Aminul Islam, Iqbal Sikander and Venkatapathi Raju. Participants from Oman, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain and UAE attended this course.

Chairman of Oman Cricket Kanak Khimji and general secretary Madhu Jesrani were present during second day of the course to welcome and address the participants and ICC officials.

Kanak Khimji stated the importance of coaches in the game and highlighted the never ending learning attitude that is a must for a good coach.



All participants and officials were very vocal about the hospitality and were greatly impressed the grounds and facilities developed by Oman Cricket thus far.

Abbas Al Nadwi, the Saudi Arabia representative, was especially appreciative of the structured hands on learning approach of the educators and found them to be very professional.



Fariba Heidari and Nasime Rahshetai, the two female representatives from Iran were also in full praise for the instructors and hoped for more participants in coming years.

ICC's Aminul Islam was impressed with the level of development and growth of the infrastructure and standing on the national team in Oman. He gave credit to the board, especially the chairman, Kanak Khimji, for the years of solid leadership and support that have been instrumental to the achievements so far.

Of the 11 participants, four were from Oman, which included Abdul Ghani Rahim Al Balushi of Al Hail School of Cricket.

The other participants were Osman Malik of Qatar, Mukunda Warrior of Bahrain, Nasimeh Rahshetei of Iran, Faiba Heidari of Iran, Abbas Saud Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, Clarke Keagan of UAE, Mahi de Silva of Oman, Haider Ali of Oman and Mahesh Ramamoorthy of Oman.
