Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion calls on centres, shops, restaurants and cafes to follow the precautionary measures.
MoCIIP has called on centres and shops to adhere to the precautionary measures that it issued in coordination with the Ministry of Health by organising the shopping process for consumers, with the aim of limiting the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
The ministry confirmed that the procedures include organising the process of entry of consumers in batches, wearing masks, maintaining a safe distance (two metres) between one consumer and another at the accounting corner, sterilising shopping carts and roofs, and providing sterilisers to consumers.
The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion indicated for the safety of consumers, these measures must be adhered to limit the transmission of infection, and to avoid shopping during the peak hours, which is usually between 7pm and 10 pm.
The Ministry also called on consumers to take advantage of the online shopping options provided by many of the shops and restaurants, stressing that in light of the spread of the “COVID-19” virus all over the world, many resort to using home delivery, to avoid mixing in places crowded with shoppers.
The Ministry also calls on the owners of the commercial centres and restaurants to ensure that workers in the field of home delivery service should follow the necessary preventive measures in order to ensure their safety and the safety of homeowners.
MoCIIP affirmed that all workers must, while providing the service, maintain the cleanliness of the general appearance and fully adhere to the health rules in personal hygiene and hand washing, in addition to that, commitment to wearing a mask and using gloves.
