After two months, Oman reports five COVID deaths in a single day

Muscat: Five people were reported dead from COVID-19 on 17 February, 2021 the first time such an occurrence has taken place in the last 60 days.
The last time five COVID deaths were seen on a single day was on 16 December, 2020, according to the Ministry of Health.
A total of 1,549 people have lost their lives due to COVID-19, as of 17 February 2021. 27 people have been admitted to hospitals over COVID complications in the last 24 hours, while 46 people are currently in ICUs. 147 people have so far been admitted to healthcare centres in the country.
Oman’s coronavirus caseload stands at 138,206, while 129,752 of those who have been diagnosed with the disease have successfully recovered, reflecting a recovery rate of 94 percent.
The Ministry of Health continues to call upon people in the country to commit to wearing masks, maintain social distancing, and follow the necessary hygiene protocols to stop the spread of COVID-19 among immediate family, as well as community members, in the country.
