Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine target group expanded in Al Dhahirah

Muscat: The General Directorate of Health Services in Al Dhahirah Governorate has announced the expansion of the target group to receive the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine in the first phase of the national campaign for immunization against COVID-19.

A statement issued online by General Directorate of Health Services in Al-Dhahirah Governorate said: "We inform you that the target group to receive the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine in the first phase of the national campaign for immunisation against COVID-19 has been expanded to include the following categories:

 1- All elderly people aged 65 years and over (healthy or suffering from chronic diseases)

 2- Those aged 18 years and over who suffer from:

- Kidney failure and those undergoing dialysis

- Chronic lung diseases: chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(Copd), interstitial lung disease(ILD) , asthma (with disease severity varying from medium to high)
