Man gets jail time, fine for indecent act in Oman

Muscat: A person  was sentenced to imprisonment for two  months and a fine of OMR 300 for committing an indecent act.

A statement issued online by Public Prosecution said: "On February 14, 2021, a court of first instance in North Al-Batinah governorate convicted the accused Hilal bin Abdulrahman bin Abdullah of the misdemeanor of committing an indecent act and misdemeanor of dealing with the national currency with contempt, by appearing in a video posted on social networking sites while he was dancing with a herbal preparation on his face and wearing around his neck  various denominations of the national currency in the form of a necklace."

"The court sentenced him for two months imprisonment and a fine OMR 300 , with permission to publish the judgment," the statement added.
