
Muscat: The MSM index closed at 3,559.73 points, down 0.18 per cent from the previous close. The Sharia Index ended down 0.24 per cent at 534.48 points.
Galfar Engineering, up 8.00 per cent, was the top gainer while Muscat Finance, down 7.89 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of Galfar Engineering were the most active in terms of the number of shares traded while Bank Muscat was most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 612 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR1.53 million, with more than 11.72 million shares changing hands. Out of 51 traded stocks, 6 advanced, 15 declined and 30 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR59,000 while Local investors were net sellers for OMR46,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR12,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 5,248.62 points, down by 0.33 per cent. National Finance, Oman Emirates Holding, Ahli Bank and National Life Insurance were up by 4.00 per cent, 2.38 per cent, 1.96 per cent, and 1.12 per cent respectively. Muscat Finance, United Finance, Al Sharqia Investment, Vision Insurance, and Sohar International Bank were down by 7.89 per cent, 5.00 per cent, 2.67 per cent, 2.50 per cent and 1.30 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,676.33 points, up 0.22 per cent. Galfar Engineering and Al Anwar Ceramic were up by 8.00 per cent and 0.67 per cent respectively. Jazeera Steel was down by 0.9 per cent respectively.
Services index was down by 0.21 per cent before closing at 1,583.54 points. Al Batinah Power, Al Suwadi Power, Dhofar Generating and Al Jazeera Service were down by 2.04 per cent, 2.0 per cent, 1.88 per cent and 0.69 per cent respectively.
