Muscat: A traveler who arrives in the Sultanate must be isolated for a period of 10 days if positive, from the day of the test result, the Ministry of Health clarified through the health isolation procedures related to Covid-19.
A statement issued online by the Ministry of Health said: ”Sanitary isolation procedures for those coming to the Sultanate according to the result of the PCR examination upon arrival:
If the result is positive then the person is isolated for a period of 10 days, calculated from the date of the examination.
If the result is negative, then the person is isolated for a period of 7 days, and it is calculated from the date of arrival in the Sultanate and it is as follows:
1- In the event that symptoms of the disease appear on the person during the period of isolation, the person shall head to the approved health institution to conduct a polymerase test and take the necessary action based on the results of the examination as follows:
A- If the result appears negative, the person completes the isolation period of 7 days and re-examination of polymerization on the eighth day, and based on the result of the examination, appropriate action shall be taken.
B - If the result is positive, then the person is isolated for a period of 10 days from the date on which the symptoms appeared, after which the isolation is terminated on the condition that the fever passes for a period of not less than 48 hours without the use of antipyretics with improvement of the rest symptoms.
2- If the person does not show symptoms of the disease during the period of isolation, the polymerase test is repeated on the eighth day and the necessary action is taken based on the results of the examination as follows:
A- If the result is negative, the person heads to the health institution to take off and return the electronic tracking bracelet and end the isolation, and the isolation will not be terminated unless there is proof of the negative examination on the eighth day.
B - If the result is positive, then the person is isolated for a period of 10 days, counted from the date of the examination, and if the person suffers from symptoms, it is required that the fever be gone for a period of not less than 48 hours without the use of fever reducers with improvement of the rest of the symptoms.
