Muscat: The Ministry of Health(MOH), has issued a circular to withdraw and stop the dispensation and circulation of a number of medicines produced by Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries (Julphar).
A statement issued online by MOH said:"The Ministry of Health issued a circular to withdraw and stop the dispensing and circulation of a number of medicines produced by Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries (Julphar) as follows:
1-Mucolyte Syrup
2- Supraproct-S Suppositories
3-Julmentin 375mg Tablets
4-Butalin 2mg Tablet
5- Butalin 4mg Tablet
6- Julmentin Fore Tablets
7-Scopinal Syrup
 8-Lipigard 10mg Tablets.
MOH also stated, "This is because the above-mentioned medicines do not conform to the approved specifications in terms of stability studies."
 MOH confirmed that: "Accordingly, a circular was made to local agents of the producing company to take the necessary measures regarding the withdrawal and stopping the dispensing of these medicines from all health care institutions in the governmental and private health sector."
"Accordingly, the Ministry of Health calls on everyone to stop using the medicines referred to above and to see a specialist doctor to prescribe alternative medicines." the statement added.
