Food market inspections in Oman to increase ahead of Ramadan

Muscat: As the Holy Month of Ramadan is approaching, inspection teams and food control departments at Muscat Municipality are intensifying their inspection visits to establishments supplying food to the public.

The move comes to verify the integrity of the supply of food in terms of quality and suitability for human consumption under the framework of the preparation taken for the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The inspection and food control department at the Directorate General of Muscat Municipality in Bausher carried out an inspection campaign at a number of commercial complexes that provide Ramadan baskets and variety of food for consumers.
Muscat Municipality has also called upon consumers in general not to hesitate to communicate with Muscat Municipality to report any observations through the call centre or social media platforms.
