Awareness campaign organised on new power tariff

Muscat: To spread awareness about the newly announced electricity tariff, Mazoon Electricity Company, the leading electricity provider in Oman, organised a special workshop which was attended by Sheikh Hilal bin Said bin Hamdan Al Hajri, the Governor of Al Dakhiliya governorate along with several other officials.

The workshop covered the new electricity subsidy policy and time frame; types of target tariff; tariffs for residential groups; available channels for customers to update data; national support system and examples of changes in electricity bills for customers according to the new tariff.

The workshop was part of a wide awareness campaign Mazoon Electricity has planned to educate different stakeholders about the new tariffs using different channels.

The company has been targeting customers in all areas under Mazoon Electricity service in the governorates of Al Dakhiliya, South Al Sharqiyah, North Al Sharqiyah, and South Al Batinah, in addition to the wilayat of Al Suwaiq of North Al Batinah governorate.

The objective of the workshops is to disseminate information, educate customers and provide important and accurate facts about the changes in electricity tariff.

A new tariff for electricity consumption will be gradually applied to all consumer groups from January 1, 2021.

Since the application of the new tariff depends on the accuracy of the customer data available to the company, Mazoon Electricity has urged customers to update their data as soon as possible, through the company’s website (mzec.nama.om) or by going to the nearest Sanad Services Centre, with the required documents.

Mazoon Electricity continues to encourage customers to update their data on Mazoon Electricity website and seek information from its website and contact centre 80077771.
