
Muscat: The MSM index closed at 3,698.499 points, ended flat from the previous close. The Sharia Index ended up 0.00 per cent at 533.325 points. Al Hassan Engineer, up 71.43 per cent, was the top gainer while Al Maha Marketing, down 8.02 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of Al Madina Takaful was the most active in terms of the number of shares traded and also was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 474 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR1.133 million, with more than 8.34 million shares changing hands. Out of 42 traded stocks, 16 advanced, 8 declined and 18 remained unchanged. At the session close, local Investors were net sellers for OMR116,000 while foreign investors were net buyers for OMR111,000 followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR4,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 5,591.104 points, down by 0.00 per cent. Al Madina Investment, Al Madina Takaful and Oman Qatar Insurance were up by 4.55 per cent, 3.53 per cent and 1.09 per cent respectively. Sohar International Bank, Muscat Finance, HSBC Bank, Al Omaniya Finance, and National Bank of Oman were down by 3.45 per cent, 3.26 per cent, 2.33 per cent, 1.43 per cent, and 1.35 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,577.583 points, down 0.00 per cent. Al Hassan Engineer was up by 71.43 per cent. Aluminium Product, Oman Cement, Al Maha Ceramics, Al Jazeera Steel and Galfar Engineer were down by 4.55 per cent, 3.01 per cent, 2.38 per cent, 2.34 per cent and 1.89 per cent respectively.
Services index was down by 0.00 per cent before closing at 1,604.442 points. Omantel was up by 1.06 per cent. Al Maha Marketing, Phoenix Power, Renaissance Service, OIFC, and Sembcorp Salalah were down by 8.02 per cent, 3.77 per cent, 2.17 per cent, 2.15 per cent and 1.05 per cent respectively.
