Quarantine period for arrivals is 7 days, not 14

Muscat: People cannot choose 14 days quarantine to avoid a PCR test on the 8th day, a Ministry of Health official said.

According to him, it is necessary for travelers to undergo a seven-day quarantine after arrival at the airports, with re-examination through PCR on the eighth day.

“People who are coming to the Sultanate through its airports must adhere to a seven-day quarantine, with a re-examination of PCR on the eighth day, and adhere to quarantine until the result appears,” the official told Times of Oman.

He continued, “Those coming to the Sultanate cannot choose to remain in quarantine for a period of 7 or 14 days, as adherence to the quarantine for a period of 7 days is mandatory.”

But for those who have been in touch with infected persons, the mandatory quarantine period is 14 days.
