Muscat: An aquarium that is said to be the largest in the Middle East is set to open in Oman next month.
Oman Aquarium will be opened at the Mall of Muscat on Friday, 15 April.
An official from the Mall of Muscat told Times of Oman, “The date is confirmed, we are gearing up for an opening on 15 April.”
According to a statement, “Oman Aquarium will be the first and only public aquarium in the Sultanate of Oman and the largest in the Middle East.

“The new Oman Aquarium is a key highlight,” of the Mall of Muscat, added the statement. It will cover, “8,000 sqm of the mall. It will span three floors and feature a demi-tunnel running through part of the main tank. It will showcase of 30,000 marine animals and 1000 types of fish,” the aquarium’s statement added.
“In total we have installed 92 acrylic panels which amounts to a total weight of 81 tons of acrylic. The facility will feature many fascinating exhibits including a walk-through tunnel.”
