Dust storm over parts of Oman

Muscat: A dust storm is spreading over the governorates of Al Wusta and Dhofar, leading to poor visibility, Oman Meteorology announced.

A statement issued online said, "Latest aerial photos show condensation of low clouds over parts of Muscat, Al Buraimi and Al Dhahirah with the spread of dust and sand over the governorates of Al Wusta and Dhofar."

"Expect a drop in temperatures across with the chance of dust advection over the coast of the Oman Sea."

On Thursday, Oman Meteorology issued an alert on the state of the sea for the next three days where the activity of the northern winds (northwesterly changing to northeasterly) was predicted to lead to medium to rough sea waves over most of the coasts of the Sultanate with maximum height of sea waves ranging between 2 and 3.5 meters.
