CBO bond issue gets overwhelming response

Muscat: The Central Bank of Oman (CBO) said on Wednesday that it has received an overwhelming response from investors for its 66th issue of Government Development Bonds (GDB) worth OMR100 million.

In a statement issued by CBO’s Monetary Operations Department said that it has received applications in excess of over OMR49.619 million at OMR149.619 million, as against the issue value of OMR100 million.

The average yield was 4.86 per cent at an equivalent price of OMR99.695, while the highest yield was 5.03 per cent at an equivalent price of OMR99.230 and the lowest was at 4.55 per cent at an equivalent price of OMR100.555.

The three-years bonds will be issued on January 20, 2021 (Wednesday) and it will mature on January 20, 2024, carrying a coupon rate of 4.75 per cent per annum. The issue was open for subscription from January 10 to 17, 2021.
