Z-Corp distributes masks and sanitisers for senior citizens at Social Welfare Home in Rustaq

Muscat: As part of its commitment to contribute towards meaningful causes in the community, The Zubair Corporation (Z-Corp)’s ‘collaboration team’ recently visited the Social Welfare Home at Al Rustaq and distributed masks and santisers for senior citizens.

The ‘collaboration team’ comprises a group of employees of Z-Corp and its subsidiaries who participate in community initiatives which are planned and conducted by them.

The ‘collaboration team’ stressed on the importance of using face masks and how they play a very vital role in personal hygiene and protection from germs and other deadly infections.

Faisal Al Manthri, Communication Manager and a member of the collaboration team said, “The elderly citizens are at a greater risk against COVID-19, and those with pre-existing problems are all the more vulnerable. Masks prevent people from getting and spreading the virus. Therefore, senior citizens should wear a mask especially in public places. Our collaboration team distributed masks at the Social Welfare Home in Rustaq to create awareness among people about the importance of wearing masks and use of hand sanitiser to check the spread of the virus.”

Mutafa Al Rujabi the Chairperson of the Welfare Home in Rustaq said, “Government authorities in Oman have directed the use of face masks in all public places. The World Health Organisation (WHO) advises wearing masks and use of sanitiser as the best way to avoid infection. We thank the ‘collaboration team’ for distributing masks for senior citizens in Rustaq.”

Within the framework of strengthening community partnership, Z-Corp’s ‘collaboration team’ had recently distributed masks and sanitisers in all schools in the Musandam governorate.

To emphasise the importance of wearing masks and maintaining hygiene in public, Z-Corp’s ‘collaboration team’ distributed masks and sanitisers in all schools in the Buraimi governorate.

The ‘collaboration team’ undertakes projects that bring to focus Z-Corp’s continued and evolving socially relevant strategy to make a positive difference in the society. This initiative comes within the framework of the corporate social responsibility strategy of Z-Corp and displayed the group’s commitment to support the community it operates in.

The ‘collaboration team’ continuously organises socially important events in the last two years. Within the framework of strengthening community partnership, The Zubair Corporation (Z-Corp)’s ‘collaboration team’ celebrated Oman’s National Day with the children of Ministry of Social Development's Al Aman Rehabilitation Centre in 2019. In the past ‘collaboration team’ has organised open day for children affected by Down’s Syndrome in association with Ministry of Social Development's Al Wafa Rehabilitation Centre for Disabled Children at Rustaq to mark World Down Syndrome Day annually observed to raise public awareness on Down Syndrome, a congenital disorder.

It also organised the same programme in association with Al Aman Centre. Among the many programmes it has organised include an open day for children affected by Down’s Syndrome, sports day event at the Omar bin Al Khattab Institute for the Blind based in Mawaleh, community events at the Al Wafa Rehabilitation Centre for Disabled Children across Oman. To encourage children with disabilities and special needs, the team conducted an art contest “I am gifted” at the Al Wafa Rehabilitation Centre for Disabled Children in Sohar.

As part of its dedication to take up meaningful, the ‘collaboration team’ frequently organises programmes for senior citizens in cooperation with the Omani Association for Elderly Friends across Oman.
