Zero reports of workers' rights violation for five days: GFoW

Muscat: The General Federation of Oman Workers (GFoW) has registered zero reports of workers' rights violation within a span of five days. 

The GFoW said in a statement, "Zero reports of workers' rights violation received by the General Federation of Oman workers during the period from 10 to 14 January."

According to the data shared by the Federation, The total number of reports that the General Federation has monitored from 2020 to 2021 amounted to 427 reports, of which 423 were registered in 2020 and 4 reports were registered in 2021.

According to the federation, reports included a deduction of wages, forcing workers to go on unpaid leave, deduction of leaves for quarantine periods from annual leave, and notifications of termination of service.

Muscat ranked first in terms of the number of reports, and it registered 342 reports, followed by North Al Batinah Governorate with 50 reports. North Al Sharqiyah Governorate has the lowest number of reports with only two.

The total number of settlement minutes and collective work agreements reached 393, including 366 in 2020 and 27 in 2021.
