ROP arrests two expats for drug trafficking, stealing

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has arrested two expats one of them for trafficking and promoting narcotic substances and the other for stealing from a vehicle. 

A statement issued online by ROP said, "The General Administration for Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances, in cooperation with the Department of Narcotics Control under the leadership of the North Batinah Governorate Police, managed to arrest an expatriate on charges of trafficking and promoting narcotic substances, and was found in his possession of 24 kilograms of hashish. The legal procedures against him are being completed."

In another a statement the ROP said, "North Al Sharqiyah Police Command arrested a person accused of stealing cash from a vehicle after its driver stopped it in front of his home. The legal procedures against him were being completed."

 "The ROP advises vehicle drivers to be careful and cautious, and not to leave cash and valuables inside their vehicles to avoid being stolen."
