Muscat: The MSM index closed at 3,725.35 points, down 0.15 per cent from the previous close. The Sharia Index ended up 0.53 per cent at 527.41 points. Al Jazeera Steel Products, up 7.33 per cent, was the top gainer while Raysut Cement, down 6.63 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of OIFC was the most active in terms of the number of shares traded while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 275 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR0.81 million, with more than 4.5 million shares changing hands. Out of 34 traded stocks, 10 advanced, 11 declined and 13 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR281,000 while GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR143,000 followed by domestic investors for OMR60,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 5,757.13 points, down by 0.23 per cent. Vision Insurance, Sohar International Bank, and Bank Nizwa were up 2.41 per cent, 2.11 per cent, and 1.05 per cent respectively. Oman Qatar Insurance, United Finance, HSBC Bank Oman, Ahli Bank Oman and Al Anwar Holding were down 3.33 per cent, 2.22 per cent, 2.20 per cent, 1.57 per cent, and 1.49 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,368.69 points, up 0.16 per cent. Al Jazeera Steel, Oman Flour Mills, Al Maha Ceramics, and Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles were up by 7.33 per cent, 2.86 per cent, 2.20 per cent, and 0.72 per cent respectively. Raysut Cement, Galfar Engineering, and National Aluminium Products was down 6.63 per cent, 2.22 per cent, and 1.1 per cent respectively.
Services index was up by 0.15 per cent before closing at 1,603.89 points. Phoenix Power, OIFC, and National Gas were up 3.85 per cent, 1.09 per cent, and 0.68 per cent respectively. Sembcorp Salalah was down 3.13 per cent.
