Over 10,000 eco-friendly bags distributed by authorities

Muscat: More than 10,000 eco-friendly and multi-use bags have been distributed by the Environment Authority. 

A statement issued online by Environment Authority said, "In line with the decision to ban single-use plastic bags, we launched an initiative in the Environment Authority to distribute more than 10,000 eco-friendly and multi-use bags to encourage citizens and residents to use environmentally friendly bags."

"The campaign began with the distribution of more than 4,000 bags in the various governorates of the Sultanate, as the authority had previously distributed a set of bags to the departments of the authority in the governorates in preparation for their distribution within the initiative that it launched," the statement added.
