Oman bans import of live birds from several countries

Muscat: His Excellency Dr. Saud bin Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Resources, has issued Ministerial Decree No. 6/2021 banning the import of live birds from some countries.

The decree says, "It is prohibited to import live birds and their products, derivatives and offal from the Kingdom of Sweden, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Republic of France, the Republic of Ireland, the Republic of Ukraine, Scotland in the United Kingdom and from Tehran in the Islamic Republic of Iran until the reason for the ban is removed and a decision in this regard is issued. With the exception of products that are heat treated in accordance with the Terrestrial Animal Health Law issued by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE)."
