Muscat: The Ministry of Health has issued a clarification about the citizen, who discussed her condition in one of the media channels.
A statement issued online by the Ministry of Health (MOH) said, ”A source at the Royal Hospital said that the citizen, who discussed her condition in one of the media channels, had previously been admitted to the surgery department of the hospital in a preparatory step for a major operation that would help her get rid of excessive weight gain, but that the reasons are specific to her, so she decided to postpone the surgical intervention until further notice.”
The source explained that a team from the hospital's National Endocrine Center has continued to follow up her case and provide alternative treatments, but her health condition requires a re-evaluation of her condition for surgical intervention by specialists in such surgeries.
The Royal Hospital had formed a team from the Department of Surgery, Nursing and other support teams to visit the patient at her home and re-evaluate her condition in preparation for her transfer to the Royal Hospital in cooperation with other authorities.
“The Royal Hospital appreciates all the positive roles that the media play in offering everything that would develop curative and preventive services for members of society, and thanks to the relevant media channel for its role in shedding light on the humanitarian situation in this case,” the statement added
