New resident, ID cards to be launched in Oman

Muscat: Expats and Omanis will be able to get the new modified version of residential and ID cards starting from Sunday.
According to the Royal Oman Police, the new cards have higher security standards and more difficult to be counterfeited.
The design has been changed and one more picture of the card's owner will be printed in the center of the card.
The modifications also included the smart card so it can be used for different new electronic applications.
