Omani students can attend colleges in Malaysia from March

Muscat: Omani Cultural Attaché in Kuala Lumpur has issued a statement regarding the return of students to the higher education institutions in Malaysia.

Omani Cultural Attaché in Kuala Lumpur said: “The Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education announced that the government approved its proposal to allow students of higher education institutions to return to their campuses in stages, starting from March 1, 2021.”

With regard to universities in the states of Sabah and Sarawak, the ministry added that the entry of students will be subject to the procedures adopted by the governments of the concerned states.

The ministry explained that the decision to allow students to enter universities and institutes physically is to enable local and foreign students to attend teaching and learning activities through face-to-face lessons.

The Ministry emphasized that the implementation of academic activities must fully comply with the stipulated standard operating procedures. “Priority must be given to safety measures, in addition to practicing new rules such as wearing a muzzle and using sterilizer, as well as adhering to physical distancing,” the statement added.
