Weather alert: Oman records sharp drop in temperatures

Muscat: Some parts of the Sultanate witnessed a sharp drop in temperatures to below zero degrees Celsius on Monday.

According to Oman Met, the temperature in Jabal Shams will record zero degree celsius on Monday as well.

Social media users shared pictures showing the water freezing in Al Sarah Mountain in Wilayat of Ibri. The mountain top recorded 5 degree Celsius below zero on Monday morning.

According to General Directorate of Meteorology forecasts, the lowest temperatures will be recorded today in Jebel Shams - 0 Celsius, and 2 Celsius in the Siq area of Jabal Al Akhdar.

Oman Meteorology previously indicated that the Sultanate will witness a drop in temperatures starting on Saturday January 2 and will continue for three days.
