Minister of Health visits COVID-19 vaccine clinics in Muscat

Muscat: H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Saidi, Minister of Health, on Sunday, visited a number of COVID-19 vaccination clinics in Muscat as part of the National Campaign for Immunization against COVID-19. 

The minister briefed on the health workers' efforts in tackling the COVID-19 pandemic and the healthcare services provided for the infected patients.

During the visit, which included Al-Seeb Polyclinic and Bowsher Polyclinic, the minister viewed the smooth process of vaccination for the target groups, the daily statistics of vaccinations, as well as the mechanisms of receiving the target groups.

Furthermore, the minister met a number of medical staff working at these clinics and listened to their suggestions.

"We are very glad to see the citizens and residents taking the vaccine,” the Minister of Health said to the media. He asserted that the vaccine is safe and effective.

Al-Saidi added that 7600 persons in the Sultanate have been vaccinated till today. No side effects have been registered other than the expected symptoms for each vaccine such as headache, body ache, low fever and skin rash in some cases.

The Minister of Health called upon all to not pay attention to rumors and forward to the distributed vaccination centers across the Sultanate. The Minister was accompanied by Dr. Thamra Al-Ghafri, Acting Director-General of Health Services of Muscat Governorate.
