Muscat: The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs has issued a statement about opening of mosques and their new electronic system.
A statement issued online by Oman News Agency (ONA), said: "His Excellency Dr. Mohammad bin Said Al-Maamari, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, said that the electronic system for mosques, which the ministry began implementing on the 1st of January 2021, is a qualitative leap in the services provided by the ministry in this aspect."
His Excellency added, in a statement to the Oman News Agency, that the mosques' electronic system provides all services to mosques, starting before construction and during construction, and also supports the conduct of mosque management business and everything related to it. The system is very easy and fast as well and solves many problems that were previously occurring regarding building mosques and the permits related to them.
The Supreme Committee, in agreement with the Ministry, has opened mosques in which the number of worshipers can accommodate more than 400, while taking the necessary precautions. "The ministry works for the long term so that the future is better in building the mosque, its facilities and endowments for the mosque. As for the previous situation, the ministry still bears the costs of electricity and water, and we are working to enhance the resources of the endowment so that it covers this operational cost for the next stage," Al-Maamari added.
