MOH publishes instructions regarding COVID-19 vaccine

Muscat: The Ministry of Health (MOH) has published the most important instructions that people must follow regarding COVID-19 vaccine. 

A statement issued online by MOH said, "The most important instructions should people follow with regard to COVID-19 vaccine - initiate a quick response and go to the health institutions as soon as you are notified that you are in the vaccine target group and commitment to take the second dose of the vaccine 21 days after the first dose. In order to obtain the desired efficacy, as a single dose of the vaccine is considered ineffective."

The MOH also said, "The effect of the vaccine begins seven days after the second dose is taken, and before that, the person is still susceptible to infection and should go to the health institutions for evaluation if any symptoms of the disease appear. Continue to adhere to other preventive measures such as hand washing, wearing a mask and physical distancing after taking the vaccine doses, as taking the vaccine will not cancel the need for these measures."

"Don't pay attention to rumours and take the information about the vaccine from the reliable official sources," the statement added.
