Oman's share index ends lower marginally

Muscat: The MSM30 index stood lower and closed at 4,082.68 points, down by 0.07 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 552.12 points, down by 0.23 per cent. Phoenix Power was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. Oman Fisheries, up 3.39 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Al Omaniya Financial Ser., which lost 8.75 per cent.
A total number of 370 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.34 million with more than 12.22 million shares changing hands. Out of 32 traded stocks, 6 advanced, 10 declined and 16 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net buyers for OMR84,000, followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR30,000 while Omani investors were net sellers for OMR114,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed higher by 0.01 per cent at 6,655.73 points. Gulf Invest Services Holding and Taageer Finance were up by 3.33 per cent and 3.09 per cent respetively. Al Omaniya Financial Ser, Al Anwar Holding, Al Batinah Dev. Inv. Holding and Al Madina Takaful were down by 8.75 per cent, 1.12 per cent, 1.11 per cent and 1.1 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index was up by 0.01 per cent at 4,814.86 points. Oman Fisheries and Galfar Engineering were up by 3.39 per cent and 1.23 per cent respectively. Dhofar Cattle Feed, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles and Oman Cement were down by 1.41 per cent, 1.15 per cent and 0.69 per cent respectively.
Services Index closed higher by 0.06 per cent at 2,028.69 points. Al Batinah Power and Phoenix Power were up by 2.27 per cent and 1.11 per cent respectively. Dhofar Generating Company, Ooredoo and Omantel were down by 5.34 per cent, 1.2 per cent and 0.57 per cent respectively.
