Number of retired employees from the government sector exceeds 4,980 in 2020: CSEPF

Muscat: The total number of retired employees from the government sector has exceeded 4,980 in 2020, according to the Civil Service Employees Pension Fund (CSEPF).

According to the statistics shared by CSEPF, the total number of retired employees has reached 4,983, from January 2020 to November 2020, of which 67 percent of them were men and 33 percent were women.

The data also shows that the average age of retirement is 53 years, the average service period is 29 years, and the average monthly pension is OMR 989.

The statistics indicated that the total number of retirees till the end of November 2020 amounted to 78,628 which 42,644 were alive retirees and 35,984 were heirs and they are given monthly salaries totaling OMR 34 million.
