Foundation stone laid for AOU building construction

Muscat: Her Excellency Dr Rahma bint Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, the Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, has laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Arab Open University (AOU) building in the Sultanate of Oman. 

In her statement, the Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation said, "The availability of an educational environment conducive to learning and stimulating creativity and innovation has an active role in improving the educational process, developing programs and services, and attracting students to study at the educational institution locally and internationally."

She added, "The buildings and facilities are of great importance and integrate with academic programs, curricula and study plans in establishing a successful and effective educational system. From this standpoint, the Ministry was keen to monitor the buildings of educational institutions to assess their compatibility with technical specifications and standards for university facilities."

"As we celebrate today the laying of the foundation stone for the Arab Open University, we congratulate the university for this great step, hoping that the project will be completed according to the planned timetable, and we call on the rest of the institutions to move forward in completing the process of moving to their permanent buildings according to the specified timelines," the minister said.
