Water tariff revised for expats in Oman

Muscat: The water tariff for homes inhabited by residents will start at 660 baisa per cubic meter, and it will increase by 110 baisa annually, according to a decision issued today by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Public Services Regulatory Authority.

Today, the authority issued a decision to amend some provisions of the regulation for the tariff for the supply of drinking water.

The text of the decision stated: Additional residential accounts include accounts registered in the name of expatriates or in the name of an Omani citizen with more than two water accounts.

The additional accounts tariff starts at 660 baisa and increases annually by 110 baisas, leading to an unsupported tariff proportional to the economic cost of providing safe drinking water by the end of 2024.
