Number of Arabic teachers in Oman's government schools crosses 5,000

Muscat: The total number of Arabic language teachers at government schools for the academic year 2019 /2020 has reached more than 5,000, the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), indicated.

A statement issued online by NCSI said, "Coinciding with world Arabic Language Day, the total number of Arabic language teachers at governmental schools for the 2019/2020 academic year reached 5,639, of which 2,995 are females and 2, 644 are males. Where the total number of teachers has decreased by 2.9 per cent compared to the academic year 2018 /2019."
