Six persons convicted for violating Supreme Committee regulations

Muscat: Six people who violated the Supreme Committee decisions were given sentences ranging between three months imprisonment and a fine of OMR 1000.

The courts of first instance in the governorates of Muscat, Al Dakhiliyah, and South Sharqiyah issued a number of criminal judgments against violators of the decisions of the Supreme Committee in charge of examining the mechanism for dealing with developments resulting from the Coronavirus (COVID-19), during the period of December 9-17, 2020.

"The Public Prosecutor had initiated investigations with six defendants, who violated the decisions of the Supreme Committee, by going out during the period of prohibiting movement and not wearing masks, and accordingly they were referred to the competent courts, and they were sentenced to sentences ranging between three months imprisonment and a fine of OMR 1000 with deportation of foreign suspects from the country," the Public Prosecution added.
