Tanweer hosts virtual contractor forum

MUSCAT: Tanweer, Rural Areas Electricity Company, member of Nama Group, hosted the Contractor Forum, on December 14, which brought together the company's key contractors, suppliers and consultants. The event was held virtually to support and encourage two-way communication.

The Contractor Forum brings together local and international contractors and suppliers to share their experience and learning. The forum also provides a unique opportunity for the suppliers and contractors to learn about Tanweer’s future business opportunities and expectations.

Besides, the forum aims to reinforce the importance of two-way communication and provides transparency as well as facilitates positive interactions with the contractors aimed at enhancing their financial capacity to successfully undertake Tanweer’s projects. The event also provides an opportunity and the need for developing and supporting local small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

The event attended by more than 200 people representing several local and international contractors and suppliers.

Rural Areas Electricity Company Tanweer, member of Nama Group, is an Omani registered shareholding company which commenced its operations on May 1, 2005, following the implementation of Privatisation of the Electricity and Related Water Sector Law promulgated by Royal Decree 78/2004. Tanweer is wholly owned by the Electricity Holding Company 'Nama Holding', which is also owned by Oman Investment Authority as per the Royal Decree 61/2020.

Tanweer offers its services in the authorised areas at Musandam Governorate, Al Wusta Governorate, most of Dhofar Governorate, and parts of Al Dakhiliyah, Al Dhahirah and Sharqiyah South Governorates, they also operate the desalination plant in Al Duqm.
