Oman bans import of birds from two countries

Muscat: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources has issued a ministerial decision to ban the import of live birds from some areas in Russia and Netherlands.

A statement issued online said: "Banning the import of live birds and their products and derivatives from the Republic of Karachay - Cherkessia, the Rostov-Oblast region of Russia, and the provinces of Gelderland and Groningen in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. This decision comes upon the recommendation of the competent veterinary authority and will be in force until the reason for the ban is removed and a decision in this regard is issued."
