Muscat: Expatriate workers in Oman should follow a number of 'significant general guidelines' to ensure their rights, says the Ministry of Manpower
The ministry recently put up a video that illustrates these guidelines, with the view of informing all expat workers in the country of what they are entitled to while working in the Sultanate.
“If you did not get one of your rights or faced an issue, such as the delay of your monthly pay,” say the Ministry of Manpower's guidelines, “you may file a complaint against the employer through the website of the ministry.
“The ministry shall have the authority to settle the disputes arising between you and your employer,” the video added. "Do not leave your work with your employer with which you are authorized to work. Do not work for any other employer with which you are not authorised to work.”
The guidelines included rights to a labour card, the ability to settle disputes, and the right to a monthly wage and overtime rates.
