Authorities shut 17 shops in Oman

Muscat: 17 shops have been shut by Muscat Municipality in the Wilayat of Al Seeb.

According to the municipality these procedures were implemented because of the lack of commitment of shops renewing the municipal licenses.

In a statement online the municipality said: "the Inspection team of Muscat Municipality, has closed 17 commercial shops in Al Jafneen, Rusayl and Al Khaudh area for non-renewal of licenses.

"The Department of Urban Inspection of Al Seeb Directorate General of Muscat Municipality has previously addressed the shops owners to comply with regulations and renew the activities." the Municipality official added: "They were given time to correct their situation before the action was taken."
