Al Rud’ha holds ‘Al Hub’ta’ virtual event to conclude ‘EBDA’ programme in partnership with BP Oman

Muscat: In partnership with BP Oman, Al Rudha held the ‘Al Hub’ta’ event virtually, marking the conclusion of the third cycle of the ‘EBDA’ programme, a capacity building programme aimed to materialise entrepreneur's skills and ideas into real-life businesses.

The event was held under the patronage of Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion and Yousef Al Ojaili, BP Oman president. As part of the programme, the participated young Omanis presented business models of their commercial products. The programme included 25 participating teams that received specialised training and helped enable participants to enter local and international entrepreneurial competitions.

Shamsa Al-Rawahiya, BP Oman Social Investment Manager, commented, "Innovation and entrepreneurship are the two main pillars for business growth, and are well-enforced through the ‘EBDA’ programme. The programme opens doors for the young Omani entrepreneur to establish commercial projects and diversify our national economy.”
The ‘Al Hub’ta’ event was an opportunity for the five highest-scoring teams to link and network with investors. It also allowed for the winning teams to market their products and services, and attract potential investment opportunities.

 
A variety of projects resulted from the programme which provides valuable services to our economy. For example, the medical “Ta’afi” platform which provides online booking services for medical appointments, “Azba” entertainment application, “Tasweet” devised for online voting, and finally the service-related “Task It” platform which links the user with the relevant service provider.

BP Oman supported other Al Rud’ha programmes since 2018 including the third cycle of ‘Ideas Laboratory’ and “Tfakur” sessions to enhance the value of educational laboratories that aim to develop business-oriented thinking in our society.
