Standard Chartered delegation visits CBO

Muscat: Tahir Salim Al Amri, Executive President of the Central Bank of Oman (CBO), received José Viñals, Group Chairman of Standard Chartered at his office in CBO on Tuesday. Viñals was accompanied by a delegation, which included, Sunil Kaushal, Regional CEO, Middle East & Africa at Standard Chartered Bank.
During the meeting, the officials discussed a number of topics, including the impact of the global economic and geopolitical developments on GCC’s resource-dependent economies, and the impact of the economic diversification policies adopted by Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries as a measure to counter the negative effects on their respective economies.
As part of the discussions, the officials also discussed the importance of incorporating elements of diversification into the financial policies, development of local investor base and the fundamental requisites of the market ecosystem.

Others who attended the meeting included the Executive Vice President, Vice Presidents and a group of officials from various CBO departments and sections.
