General Secretariat of CGCC hosts virtual meeting

Muscat: H.E Dr Said bin Mohammad Al Saqri, Minister of Economy will represent the Sultanate, at the third meeting of the GCC Permanent Ministerial Preparatory Committee of the Economic and Development Affairs Authority. 

The General Secretariat of the CGCC in Riyadh hosts the virtual meeting that will be held on the evening of Monday 23rd November.

The meeting discussed a number of topics listed in the draft agenda including enhancing economic and development integration. The meeting also discussed the outcomes of a study regarding the work plan for the Economic and Development Affairs Authority in addition to the strategic aspects that should be taken into consideration while developing the work priorities of the Authority. 

The meeting also discussed the latest updates on the GCC railway project, the free trade negotiations, as well as the follow up the dashboard for the implementation in the areas of the common GCC market and the outputs of the statistical survey on the extent of executing the joint GCC work decisions. 

In addition, the meeting discussed issues related to the implementation of the Supreme Council’s decisions at the 17th consultative meeting on the GCC Customs Union, the GCC Common Market, the movement of trucks between GCC member states, in addition to a project to build a Gulf economic model.

The meeting touched on the latest developments regarding studies and projects carried out by the Office of Economic and Development Affairs, a report on the most important indicators of economic developments in the GCC states and a number of other issues related to joint GCC action.
