Trump calls Apple CEO 'Tim Apple'

Muscat: US President Donald Trump mistakenly called Apple CEO Tim Cook 'Time Apple' during a meeting at the White House for the American Workforce Policy Advisory Board.

"People like Tim," he said in reference to Cook, "you’re expanding all over and doing things that I really wanted you to right from the beginning. I used to say, “Tim, you got to start doing it over here.” And you really have. I mean, you’ve really put a big investment in our country. We appreciate it very much, Tim Apple."

Trump then followed the remark with a statement about crime and the border with Mexico.

"You see what’s going on at the border. And we’re doing a great job, whether it’s Border Patrol, ICE, law enforcement, generally," hye stated.

"And we’re stopping drugs at a record level, but a record number of drugs are pouring up and coming up. And we’re getting it done. Human trafficking is a disaster. Nobody knew too much about it until recently. It’s been going on for a million years, actually. It’s been going on for a long time.

"But we’ve seen it. We’ve spotted it."

The meeting was held to discuss technology education and jobs.
