President of Pakistan wishes His Majesty on National Day

Muscat: Dr Arif Alvi, the President of Pakistan, has wished His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik on the occasion of Oman’s 50th National Day. 

“He stated that both countries have always enjoyed close and cordial ties, deeply rooted in common faith, shared history and cultural affinities,” said a statement from the Embassy of Pakistan in Muscat.

A similar greeting was sent by Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister.

“He said both sides enjoy cooperative relations based on commonality of faith, mutual respect and common perceptions on many international and regional issues,” added the embassy.

Pakistani expats have contributed to the development of Oman for many years, and form one of the largest overseas communities in the country.

According to data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information, there are 176,550 Pakistani nationals living and working in Oman
