Training programmes on e-learning, geotechnical engineering held

Muscat: The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates – Madayn, represented by Madayn Industrial Academy, organised three training programmes on topics of practical leadership, e-learning and geotechnical engineering.
These programmes come along the lines of the constant efforts undertaken by Madayn to develop the capabilities of the human cadres in the various industrial cities.
The virtual Practical Leadership programme, which targeted the director generals at Madayn, aimed at equipping the participants with the advanced leadership methods through theory and practical approaches. The programme represents an intro to a further advanced and comprehensive programme for leadership development in the institutions.
Moreover, the e-learning programme, which was also conducted remotely, emphasised on the significance of remote training opportunities especially in light of the current coronavirus pandemic circumstances. The programme also outlined the benefits of e-learning which include speed and accuracy of programme implementation, cost-effectiveness, the possibility of participating in remote local and international training programmes, and easiness of attracting trainers from inside and outside the Sultanate.
The third training programme highlighted ‘Geotechnical Engineering and Soil Improvement’, which was moderated by Dr Mohammed Al Aghbari, Associate Professor at the College of Engineering at Sultan Qaboos University. The programme elaborated on geotechnical investigation, geotechnical laboratory tests, soil-related problems, and soil improvement methods. This programme presents an opportunity to exchange and transfer scientific and practical expertise from academics from various higher education institutions in Oman.
It should be noted that Madayn Industrial Academy was established in 2019 to offer training opportunities for the national cadres to enhance administrative, financial and technical skills, boost their skills and raise their productivity, provide value-adding services to the investors in the industrial cities, provide new job opportunities for the national cadres. Madayn Industrial Academy organises a series of training programmes and events that address the trending topics and challenges locally and globally. The academy also organises training-for-employment in cooperation with the concerned bodies in this field.
Madayn aims through the academy to develop the skills of the national cadres and complement the efforts made by the Sultanate to support training and Omanisation by providing scientific and practical training to the cadres to meet the needs of the industrial sector.
