Muscat: Dr Sridevi P.Thashnath, principal of Indian School Darsait, has been reappointed for the third consecutive year as the post-result CBSE counsellor to provide counseling services to students and their parents to overcome common psychological problems and general queries after the declarations of Class X & XII results.
“The counseling sessions will begin from May 21 to and will last till June 4, 2016. These will be from 12 Noon to 4 pm. It is a voluntary, free of cost service that students of Indian schools across Oman can avail”, the Central Board of Secondary Education’s statement explained.
The Central Board of Secondary Education Counselling is an outreach programme which is carefully designed keeping the heterogeneity of students’ population and its geographical spread. CBSE tele-counselling is largely offered by trained counselors and principals from within the CBSE affiliated schools located in India and outside India.
A total of 63 experts including principals, trained counselors from the CBSE affiliated government and private schools and a few psychologists will be available for tele-counselling.
Out of these, 51 are from India and 12 from outside India, including Nepal, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Dammam), Oman, UAE (Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah) and Kuwait.
This is the 19 th Consecutive year that CBSE is providing counseling services to students and parents. During this phase, counseling facility for differently abled children has also been arranged to take care of the needs and anxieties of special children with regard to the exam result.
