Several academic, health and administrative programs licensed in Oman

Muscat: The Institutions and Programs Licensing Committee at the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation has licensed a number of academic, health and administrative programs. This was announced at the fifth meeting of the Committee this year.

A statement said: "The committee reviewed a number of private higher education institutions’ requests to license health and administrative academic programs, in addition to other programs in the field of computer technology and architecture. The committee granted a license for the first special program for the category of hearing disability in design, which is the Bachelor of Science in Digital Graphic Design program for the Scientific College of Design, which was designed to suit the nature of this group of students."

"The college also obtained a license for two other programs, namely the Master of Arts in Fine Arts and the Master of Design program, to give students the opportunity to continue their graduate studies in the field of design and fine arts. The committee also approved the Gulf College’s request to transfer the link in the Diploma and Bachelor of Science (Honors) program in Computer Science from Staffordshire University to Cardiff Metropolitan University in Britain, and the program has several sub-tracks: artificial intelligence, data analytics, and mobile computing."

"In the field of administration, the University of Buraimi obtained a license for the Master of Public Administration, which will be offered in Arabic. The program aims to attract the category of administrators and leaders who wish to pursue their higher studies in the field of management in the Arabic language. In the field of health and medical laboratories, Al Sharqiyah University obtained the approval of the committee to offer an advanced diploma program and a Bachelor of Science in medical laboratory sciences in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Health that were fully met by the university. The Global College of Engineering and Technology obtained a license for the Bachelor of Science (Honors) Program in Architectural Technology and Design in academic affiliation with the University of the West of England," the statement said.

"Whereas, the committee refused to license a program for reasons related to designing the study plan. Decisions on a number of requests have been postponed until the institutions respond to the committee’s observations and fulfill the required requirements."
