Muscat: His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers today received the heads of delegations taking part in the 7th Conference for Chairmen of Supreme Courts in the Arab States being hosted by the Sultanate.
After welcoming the guests, Sayyid Fahd affirmed the Sultanate’s keenness under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said to continue supporting Arab joint action and enhancing the legal and judicial march to serve the supreme interests of the Arab countries. He said the conference’s importance comes from the nature of this stage, which requires exchange of views and unifying visions on means of developing laws and legislations suitable to promote the judicial work.
The Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers pointed out that the Sultanate is moving forward in developing the legal and judicial system, as well as attaching importance to qualifying and training competencies to understand the developments and responding to requirements of social and economic progress of the country.
On their side, the chairmen of the supreme courts expressed their best wishes to His Majesty the Sultan, praying to the Almighty Allah to grant His Majesty further success in the growth and development march being witnessed by the country. They hailed the facilities provided by the Sultanate to ensure the success of this conference and to come up with positive outcomes.
The meeting dealt with ways of fostering Arab legal and judicial cooperation and exchange of experiences to improve litigation procedures and finding suitable solutions to overcome obstacles facing justice march to reach aspired integration.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Dr. Is’haq bin Ahmed al-Busaidi, President of the Supreme Court and the Deputy Chairman of the Judicial Supreme Council.
