Consumer Protection Authority issues clarification on tax

Muscat: The newly introduced tax shall not added to goods imported before the decision to levy additional tax, the Consumer Protection Authority noted on Sunday.

The Authority said: "Products are supposed to be sold without adding fees as long as it arrived before the date on which these fees were imposed."

CPA asked the public to provide the authority with the name of the store that is not following this rule, its location and the complainants phone number in private, so that the dates of the product’s entry into the Sultanate can be verified.
