Violators of Supreme Committee decisions punished

Muscat: Primary courts in different governorates have issued a number of criminal judgments against violators of the decisions of the Supreme Committee on COVID-19. 

A statement issued by the Public Prosecution said “Primary courts in the governorates of Al-Batinah, South Al-Sharqiyah, Al-Buraimi, and Al-Dhahirah issued during the period November 1-5 2020, a number of criminal judgments against violators of the decisions of the Supreme Committee on COVID-19.”

“The Public Prosecution began investigating ten defendants who violated the ban on movement, and as a result they were referred to the competent courts, and they received sentences ranging between four months imprisonment and a fine of OMR1,000, with the accused foreigners being deported from the country,” the statement added.
